New Year’s Banana Bread recipe 2008
January 1, 2008
It’s a new year, and I’m giving away my famous banana bread recipe! Eat it for health. Eat it for pleasure. Eat it just for fun. Here it is:
2 cups flour
1/4 cups butter
2 or 3 bananas – smashed, mashed, and pulverized
3/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 cups sour cream or yogurt
1/3 cups brown sugar
1 1/3 cups white sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 pinch cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract the real stuff
Beat the eggs. Add the other wet stuff. Add the mashed bananas. Then, add
the mixture of flour, salt, baking powder and soda, and cinnamon. Mix it all up
like crazy. Use a hand mixer or something, come on.
If you were smart and heated the oven to 350 before you started mixing, it’s
ready and what you do next is pour the mixture into a sprayed or buttered
bread pan, then pop that little sucker in the oven. Set the timer for precisely 58
minutes, because that’s exactly how long it’s going to take.
Loaf is ready when a toothpick, having been shoved down into the center of
the loaf, comes out clean. Remove from pan soon after it comes out of the
oven, and let cool on a rack.
